Sibelius 6....has anyone?

1.  Does anybody have anything to share about early experiences with Sibelius 6 and VDL?  Any problems or quirks as of yet?  Any positives?  I have read about the new features, but I was looking for those folks who have already used it and might have found some of those ";unknowns"; that you don't find out until you use it--positve or negative.

2.  I am on the verge of purchasing a new Mac Pro and will want to purchase a new sequencing program.  I have used Sonar on the PC for years, but that will obviously be changing.  What can you tell me about about Apple Logic.....Pro vs. Express vs. neither?  I have also looked into Cubase 5.....I can get that at an educational price........what about Digital Performer?

Thanks....this forum is great as always!!

I didn't know they were already shipping. Are you referring to beta testers?

For midi sequencing only, I would go with Logic.  If you plan on also using the program for audio mixing/editing, Pro Tools is the way to go.  Pro Tools is cheaper then Logic and you get an audio interface.  I believe an MBox Mini is $295 at Sweetwater.

Logic express 8 is the jam. However, on ebay logic studio 8 is going for around 200-275 bucks a pop. So you may want to do that if you're considering the two. Just make sure it's ";NIB"; or New and In box.

Some people download it to their computer, then try to sell the software online. Most of the time they will say so in the product description though so you just need to be careful.

That is good information--Thanks
