Crushes in Sib 5.2.5?

First I would like to tell you guys that I have now been using Sibelius and Virtual DL for 1.5 years and this is my first post because of all of the helpful info on this forum.  Thanks!  However, I couldn't find anything regarding this question:

I am using the 5.2.5 Template and Sib 5.2.5 and am having trouble getting the squiggly to appear above crushes.  I went to the keypad window under the fermata tab as usual, but when I pressed the second key on row two (= on mac) I got nothing.  When I also have an accent over the note and press =, it scoots the accent up to make room for the squiggly, but is still hidden.  Even after making sure my hidden objects are viewable, it wasn't visible.  The playback recognizes the crush, so its their, just invisible.  Is their something I need to uncheck or check to view the squiggly?

Thanks,
Jim
Jim,

Is the button highlighted in the image below the one you are using?
Yes.
Go to House Style > Engraving Rules and see if the Inverted Mordent is displaying like the attached picture.

If it is there, then ... I can't think of a reason why it's not showing up.
It's not showing up, neither is the 12th or 16th in that line up (which I am assuming are the other two on the keypad).  Is there a way to make them show?

Thanks,
Jim

Ah, OK. Yes, the other two blanks are indeed the other two customizable articulations - which, unless you defined something for them yourself, they will be blank.

My first thought is that that particular sib file is not a copy of the 5.2.5 Template file. Is this the case?

To verify, go to Create > Instrument (shortcut I) and look at the ";Choose from:"; part of the Instruments' dialog box. It should look like the attached jpg if the answer to the above question is no.
My choose from box looks exactly like your jpg.
I did just open the snare trigger test that came with the template zip file and the Engraving Rules DID recognize the mordent.  I also just opened two other files that I saved with the 5.2.5 template, one recognized the mordent and one did not.  Could there be a bug in the ones that do not?  Am I going to need to create a new file using the template that recognizes the mordent in order to see it in the score or is their away to make it appear without having to do that?  Thanks again for the help!
If the articulation is being recognized and thus triggering the correct playback, but not displaying, you could always add a mordent symbol (not articulation).  Sibelius symbols are visual only and do not affect playback.

It's a pain, but could be a quick fix for a specific score. It doesn't resolve the original problem, however.
Joe, you are correct. The inverted mordent doesn't have anything to do with playback, it's the Custom Articulation One that has been used in the instrument mappings (well, in 5.2.5 and previous). This is why the playback is still correct.

Jim, go to House Style > Edit Symbols, scroll down to the Articulations section. Do you see the two inverted mordents like this picture?

Yes.
I was hoping to not have to use the symbols (extra step), but I can just recopy my score into one of the previous 5.2.5 files that did recognize the mordent.  Weird that this file did not when they were all form the original template?  Thanks again guys for your time and effort!
I sent you a PM.
Jim

Did both of the files you sent me originate from a copy of the Template? If yes, then I don't know what it is that has apparently removed the Inverted Mordent assignment from Custom Articulation One.

If no, as in you imported a Template house style into those files, then the error could be within the import process (on the Sibelius side of things). However, I didn't see anything that would indicate this to be the culprit either.

I don't know if you want to take the time to see if you can duplicate this unique (so far) error, but you can if you want. So far I'm stumped.

Hugh
I am almost certain that they did come from the original template.  But now that I know that I have an original template that recognizes it, I can just copy the scores over to the working template.  It won't take too long.  Thanks for everyone's help!
