Anybody tried the new ";tomahawk"; training drumsticks?  Someone suggested that I use it with my students, but I wondered if anyone had any success with it so far.  I understand it's really just for beginning students.  Maybe just for elementary/middle school teaching?

I'd love to hear feedback of anyone who's tried them already.  I'm hoping to decide quickly for my fall students.

I used them with some of my beginning drummers last year.  They were able to assimilate the correct hand position and basic stroke in a matter of seconds.  With repetition it was easy to switch to regular sticks pretty quickly, although I kept bringing them out whenever bad habits reappeared.

All my beginning percussionists will be using them this fall.

Note to self: When forging dialogue, write response with left hand.
