This may be a question for the folks at Sibelius, but I thought I would post here first.

When I click the mixer icon on the tool bar, the screen blinks as if the mixer were appearing, but there is no mixer!  All of the other tools show as they are supposed to, but I can't figure out why the mixer doesn't show. 

Can anyone help me with this?

Have you tried using the shortcut for the mixer (M)?

Also, are you able to see all other windows such as properties, playback, keypad, etc?

I'm presuming that you're now talking about sibelius 6? Make sure you list your specs.

Yes, I have tried the M shortcut.  It toggles the mixer icon blue and gray, but no mixer appears.

I am running Sibelius 6 and VDL2.5.

Funny thing is I remember using the mixer to mute some instruments when I wrote the first couple of charts with SIB 6.  I have gone back and opened those scores, and experience the same problem with the mixer.  It is very odd!

It may have moved off of the screen.  Check the edges of the monitor to see if it's hanging out in the outfield.

Sometimes this can happen if, for example, you use a dual monitor setup, then later switch to just using one monitor. If your mixer was at one point on a 2nd screen (monitor), it may be getting pushed off to where it's not visible. As Cobybos mentioned, look carefully around all the edges of your screen and maybe you can see a few pixels of it lurking there.

If that doesn't yield any clues, activate the mixer, then try changing your monitors screen resolution. Sometimes this forces your system to re-negotiate where open windows are placed, and maybe you can get your hands on it then. Once you've brought it to a more central location, change your screen resolution back.

If none of these tips work, definitely try the folks at Sibelius. If this is something that's specific to their software, they'll probably have a fix for you.

Thanks for your help!  I had looked around the edges and found nothing.  I eventually lowered my menu bar at the bottom and found a piece of it chilling out down there.  All is good now.  Thanks for the advice.
