IMAC VDL 2.5.1 Sibelius 6.0.1 Radium 61-key USB midi (updated drivers last week)
Good afternoon,
My Sibelius 6.0.1 is quitting unexpectedly again. I followed the instructions previously given for deleting playback configurations, etc. per the info you'll find in a tutorial on this issue. I also contacted Sibelius and asked for their help. They seem unable to solve the problem. I sent them a crash report last week and have received no response. Today, Sibelius crashed some 7 times in a row after being open for merely seconds. Sometimes it works fine for a half hour or longer and then it begins to crash. I noticed that Carbonite and Leopard do not play well together. I deleted all of my Carbonite files but still see the icon on the top of my computer desktop screen. I do not have this problem at home with my Powerbook G4, Oxygen 8, and Sibelius 6. Only at work with the IMAC, Leopard, and Sibelius. If anyone can log into my computer and try and do a diagnostic to figure out what the problem is or has a suggestion, I'd be extremely happy to do either. I was supposed to have something done for band rehearsal this afternoon and cannot do so because of the mysterious unexpectedly quitting Sibelius. I'll look forward to your responses.

Neal,
Have you completely turned off your computer and then turned it back on? Has your computer been on for an extended amount of time? I had this issue after my Mac Pro was on for a few day straight with Sibelius open. Restarting didn't work, I shut down for a couple of minutes and it stopped crashing.

Gabe,
Good morning! I turned my IMAC off before leaving work. I opened Sibelius, was working for about 10 minutes and it quit unexpectedly. Maybe I need to do a complete re-install.
Take care, Neal

Gabe,
Good morning! I disconnected my wireless keyboard and its usb device and have been re-starting my computer more often. I am also using my Oxygen 8 keyboard instead of the Radium 61-key device. So far, I have not had another instance of Sibelius quitting unexpectedly. Let's see how that goes.
By the way, if anyone knows how to completely remove Carbonite from one's computer, please let me know. I've tried to search and delete every file connected to that service, but it still shows up at the top of my desktop, right hand corner. I've attached a png.
Take care, Neal

UPDATE:
Having uninstalled Carbonite last Thursday and disconnected my wireless keyboard and mouse, I have not had Sibelius 6 quit unexpectedly since. I am hoping that Carbonite was the culprit. From what I read online it does not play well with Leopard. For whatever it's worth, perhaps this info will help others who might be having a similar problem.

Neal,
I've never know someone more persistent than yourself when trying to nip a problem in the bud. :-) Thanks for the info, and congrats on pinpointing the problem.

Crap. I'm running Carbonite on my iMac and am planning to upgrade to Sib6 and Snow Leopard. Would you advise against this?
