I was recently asked if there was a way to hide articulations without hiding the notes to which they are attached. By default - no. However, a man named Roman Molino Dunna created a plugin that allows you to hide/unhide articulations.
Basically, you select the notes/passage in which you want to hide articulations, and run the plugin. The only caveat is that it hides all articulations, so there is no way to select which ones you want to hide or leave unhidden.
Hopefully some of your will find this useful.

Unfortunately, it doesn't hide real articulations. As the plugin's description explains, it replaces articulations with hidden text equivalents—which means you can't use the plugin to control playback, only how the score appears. :?(
