Portable USB Drive Installation

In order to free up space on my laptop, I have installed VDL onto my portable 500 GB USB drive.  Sibelius can't seem to find the VDL sound files to allow playback and I don't know what path/folder I should include in the virtual instruments and effects folder setting on the playback devices dialoge.

I am running Sibelius 5 with VDL 2.5 on a Windows laptop.

Please help or point me to a tutorial or article/post that can help.

Thanks,

Patrick
You have to go into the Kontakt Player and tell it where to find the samples. Check out the image below for a better idea or where to select this. You'll need to open Kontakt Player 2, upon which you should see the VDL 2.5 box on the left-hand side.  The areas highlighted in red are where you'll need to draw your attention.  I'm presuming that the drive is being recognized and given a letter, so this shouldn't be a problem.

Also, have you copied the Kontakt Player 2 vst file (KontaktPlayer2.dll) as instructed in the VDL set up guide?

Hope this helps.
I put my libraries in a custom location also, of which I put VDL in the following directory on my C drive (Windows XP).

The main thing you need to make sure of is that the folders/files you see below are in whatever directory you point KontaktPlayer2 to (the bit that Bryan covered).

One other note I'll add is that you may have some issues with the samples not streaming the way they need to be (during playback) when on an external USB drive. See this thread for more on that: Hard Drive speed explained.
