HELP! Kontakt and VDL Library error

I am using Sibelius 6 and recently upgraded my HD on my Macbook Pro. The new HD is a clone of my previous one. When trying to use sibelius with the VDL library it gives me a message saying: ";Kontakt Player - File was not found, Please check if Library is installed correctly";. I've never had an issue with this until now. Could someone shed some light on the situation?

Make sure that your library path is set correctly in Kontakt Player 2.  To do this, click on the info tab for VDL in Kontakt Player 2.  You'll then see a library path area towards the bottom of the window.

Most people have it installed in Macintosh HD:Applications:Tapspace:Virtual Drumline 2.5.  Let us know if that fixes your problem.
Bryan,

That did the trick! Thank you for your speedy reply!
No problem. Glad we got you squared away!
Hey Guys!! I've been searching for hours trying to find this exact post. I recently made the switch to MAC from PC and I am having a little trouble finding my way around. And to make matters worse, all of my installing has been done from downloads, which is weird for me as I like to have physical copies of documents and c.d.'s.

Anyway, I am running Sibelius 6 with VDL 2.5 (updated) and the 6.0a template. I successfully made a custom playback config thanks to the tutorial video series. But when I click the ";test"; button for my two instances of Kontakt Player 2 (with sound set 6.0a selected) it gives the error message from earlier in the original post (asking about the library stuff). I don't understand where Bryan was directing him to look in the ";info tab"; I can't find that... Any other directions on finishing the install would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks for being helpful :-)

Hi Brian,

As far as your first issue goes, I would just burn all of those program that you downloaded to a CD/DVD for later use.

Second issue: you would want to click the Show button, not test button. The Test button just runs a test to check what sounds are loaded and essentially give you audible feedback. Once you click the Show button, it will pull up your instance of Kontakt Player 2. if VDL is installed properly, you should see something like the attached image below where you you should click the Info button. If the VDL box is blue, without the brushed steel background and fancy artwork, then the library path is not set correctly. Once you click the info button, you'll see something like the second image below. The red box I have highlighted should be the location of your VDL library. If you're unsure of your location for the library, you could always go to Finder and search for Virtual Drumline 2.5 and that will find the directory for you.

Hope this helps!
I am having the same problem with the error message saying 'File not found- Please Check if Library is installed correctly.'  The path is set to the VDL2.5 folder, but I still get the same message.  I am wondering if I missed a step in the initial library installation somewhere.  I get the same result when I use the VDL 5.2 Template Download.  I'm running VDL 2.5 on Sibelius 5.2 on a MacBook OSX 10.5.8.  Thanks.

Andy - it's possible you didn't drag the .nkx files into place after running the initial VDL instalation.

There's a FAQ about this here:
https://www.tapspace.com/support/faq/index.php?action=artikel&cat=4&id=90
I did have the .nkx files in place.  I ended up just re-installing it completely and that did the trick.  Thanks.
Cool! Thanks for letting us know!
Andy, I am now having the same problem.

What exactly did you re-install?  I literally JUST re-installed everything, & NOW that error message is showing up.

If you're receiving a ";Samples Missing"; error message, check this FAQ:
https://www.tapspace.com/support/faq/index.php?action=artikel&cat=4&id=90
I haven't received the 'samples missing' message, its the Kontakt Player 2: 'File not found- Please Check if Library is installed correctly.'

Fair enough. However, I think the steps in that FAQ may actually help resolve your problem as well. Primarily, focus on making sure the VDL folder contains all the necessary components, and confirming that the ";library path"; field is set properly in VDL's ";info"; screen (within Kontakt Player).

If not, please get back and let us know, and also let us know a few other details like when this error message occurs, what program you're using KP2 in, and if you're on a PC or a Mac.
Hi Jim, hope all is well. I was having the same problem but I came on the forum and read through the post and found the answer to why I kept on getting the ";file not found. Please check and see if library is installed correctly";. But I keep getting the same message for my sibelius sound essentials. Is the path not the same and if not what is it? I am running a MacBook Pro 10.6.5. Like I said the path worked for the VDL but I am still get the message for my sibelius sound essentials. Thanks!

PS I've gone on sibelius site and haven't found anything.
