I am trying to incorporate different sounds in the VDL2.5.2 Snare sound bank and I am not sure how to do so. I want to be able to use some of the different cowbell sounds higher and low pitches rather than the one sound that is built into the sound bank. Is there some way to do this? And if so, what would be the best way to do it?
I tried searching for something similar to this, but couldn't find it. If you know of a post dealing with this already please let me know.
There is no easy way to accomplish this that I am aware. I presume you wish to have a snare part which moves between snare sounds and cowbell sounds. Rather than a few measures of snare, switch to cowbell for a measure, and then back to snare.
One possible solution would be to assign the snare instrument to layer 1 and the cowbell instrument to layer 2. Each instrument would need its own midi channel assignment in the instrument list and the Kontakt Player. you would then switch between layers as you write. Remember to fill in the blanks with rests. This will look a bit messy at first. But, you can use the selection tool to highlight those measures using both sounds and from one of the plugins choose 'hide rests'. There are a few more details involved but I'm away from my VDL computer.

Thanks for the reply.
Using the different layers does sound like the best option. Thanks again.
