They are supposed to have a booth at TMEA this week. I will take some more pictures and post them.

Here's the scoop on the new Tama from Tom Float. I was pretty impressed with all the stuff they had implemented into the new design. Will they go the distance in actual use. . . that is to be determined.
Thanks for the delightful commentary, Dave and Eric. I removed it since I didn't want you guys looking like fools due to lack of relevance, since the spam has been removed.

Back on topic - has anyone heard a line playing these drums? Are there any lines playing these yet? I wonder how they sound in a full ensemble setting...

Check out Ayala from this past winter season. Drums sound good. I don't know the details as far as upkeep, weight, etc.

These are my drums! Email me if you have any questions. They are OUTSTANDING! Wonder where the pictures came from? That meeting was about 9 months ago and only 10 people in that room. Also, TAMA has been very patient working out the ";bugs";. This has been YEARS in the making. Float has been heading this and making sure that every detail is taken care of. Remember, Float was a major contributor to the ";other"; drums when those were built. He knows exactly how this goes down. When these hit the market, they will be ready and will be a game changer. The parts are all high end and no 3rd party for stands or carrier. Videos and pictures are out there, but there's more to come. Watch Ayala, San Marcos, Foothill, and James Logan to see these drums. I also have lots of pictures on my FB page.

I got these pictures from my local road guy that received an email on the up coming release of these drums. He thought I would like to see them, so he sent me the pics. :-) I also did an interview with Float at TMEA last Feb and really enjoyed the thought put into making these drums.

I dont have any first-hand experience with Tama marching drums, but I did get to hear a line playing them. The snares sounded like what I would consider to be typical Dynasty snares - thick, not very wet, a little tubby. The tenors were open and resonant, lots of overtone up close. Didn't really get to listen to the basses.
Of course, tuning, head selection, and stick selection have a lot to do with resulting sound, so it may have just been the particular group I was watching that has this drum sound with Tamas. On the other hand, I did mention that typical Dynasty snare sound...
