I recently purchased VDL 2.5.2 and the Finale templates package. I'm running a Mac Pro w/ 6gb of ram Snow Leopard 10.6.6 Finale 2011c.r1 w/ Kontakt 2.2.4 running as a plug-in.
My concern is that my percussion layout, staff styles and text expression files that go into my libraries folder are not showing up with finale icons, but as a Unix Executable File with a terminal icon. So, these functions are not working properly. Everything else seems to work fine.
I think I got it. The initial fix said in the 'Library open dialog' couldn't find that. But I did 'load Library' and choose 'all files'. Thank worked. I just wish it could be a global save and not just for the individual files. Thanks for all the help.

I'm having a similar problem, only it's on a Vista OS.
Finalle 2011b VDL 2.5.2 Kontakt 4
I have copied and pasted the new templates, xml, and library files to the paths specified in the readme, but none of them are seen when I try to access them through Finale. (I can open the template directly from when I downloaded it and it works fine)
I've tried Finale and full system restarts with no success.
It says to place them in the 'common' folder, but after much searching, I have no idea where that is in Windows. There are several answers on this forum for Mac destination folders, but I can't find the answer for a windows machine. Any ideas?

Michael,
The Read Me file has the path way listed in the early steps for installation. It should be C:\ProgramData\MakeMusic\Finale 2011. This is the common folder so that any Finale user would have access to the files. They should be copied to your individual user folder once you open Finale after the installation. If this did not happen, you can copy/paste them your self.

That's where I copy/pasted it too, but it still doesn't show up once running Finale.
Everything is working (input, library, text stuff, sounds, kontakt player) so I'm not too worried, I just can't open the template from within Finale...oh well. Thanks!

Did you place the folder containing the templates inside the Finale templates folder? It should then show up if you start a new file from Template.

Yes, the template folder is placed with the Finale template folder. I try to 'open from template,' all of the pre-installed ones are there, but I can't see the VD templates.
It's odd, but I can still open the templates directly to start projects. I was thinking maybe it had something to do with installing/running Finale as an administrator on my computer and the templates not being seen in the right place after that.
