Trouble simply installing VDL 2.5 onto Mac OS X

I recently bought VDL 2.5 and was trying to install it onto my computer recently but it won't even start the process. When installing, I get to installation steps (choose custom or easy) and after I choose one, it shuts down and nothing happens. I haven't been able to find any similar problems on the FAQ or forums. Can you help? Let me know if there are any other specs that may be helpful to solve the problem.

Mac OS X 10.6.7
2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB 1067 MHz DDR3
VDL 2.5
Finale 2009
Kontakt Player 2

Also make sure you upgrade to VDL 2.5.2.
I have installed the patch but was only able to upgrade to VDL 2.5.1 from the Service Center.

However, I was able to use this link, https://www.tapspace.com/pages.php?pageid=50 and I was able to load up the VDL library and all the other things. When I open Finale 2009 though, I don't have the options of using VDL at all. I'm not sure if they are in the wrong folder or not.
Did you buy the Finale template?
I did not. I downloaded the Finale 2008 template which says it can be open in Finale 2008 or newer. If buying the 2009 template is the solution, I'll try that and see what happens.
The 2008 template should work fine with Finale 2009. It will not work with anything after that version because of changes in the Finale program itself.
I've added the new templates and it even shows that Kontakt 2 is installed along with the other sounds and documents. However, now when I open up Finale 2009 and the templates, I look to add the Kontakt 2 player plug-in, and it is not even an option. When I use the options available to me such as the Make Music: SmartMusicSoftSynth, all that are playable are piano sounds. I am truly at a loss of what to do now.
Check here to make sure that KP2 has been installed correctly.
