going to 64-bit should finally enable correct use of RAM 4GB and beyond. Even if you're on a 64-bit OS, using a 32-bit program (like virtually all audio software right now) will limit the RAM it can access.

Just did a very very crude test of figuring everything out with Sibelius 7, VDL, and TheWriteScore template (v6).
All seems to work well, dump the xml file in Sibelius via a different route though.
On a Mac...
Right Click ";Sibelius"; Click ";Show Package Contents"; (Don't mess with this stuff... seriously [other than this]) Travel to... Contents/Components/Sounds/ Drop the .xml file from TheWriteScore (v6) in here.
Everything else is as the direction have stated in the template ReadMe file.
Oh and as Jim said, use Kontakt Player 4 (Kontakt Player 2 didn't even show up for me).
I anticipate Hugh will take advantage of Sibelius 7 in some great new way, maybe this will help those on the bleeding edge get by till then.
Again... use at your own risk and happy writing! [/quote]
Thanks for figuring this piece out and posting this. I just got Sibelius 7 up and running on my Macbook Pro and I'd been struggling to to get the sound set setup correctly until I saw this post.

I installed Kontakt Player 5 tonight after loading the 7.0.3 update. Sibelius seems to now recognize the Kontakt 5 player but I don't see the template xml file in the list. I had in the location you specified for Kontakt 4 and working but Kontakt 5 doesn't seem to be recognizing it.
Does it need to go into a different location? Sibelius is now showing both Kontakt 4 and Kontakt 5 in my options. I'm just not able to use the VDL template soundset with the Kontakt 5 player yet.
