I recently purchased a new macbook air. in order to save hassles I used the migration assistant to take all my info from my previous mac laptop to my new air. When loading finale files that include VDL I get the error message ";Native Instruments - Installation folder is not writeable. Please select a folder now."; I also tried setting up a new document, when I went to install the instruments through the finale audio units, i got the same response. Help!
Open Disk Utility, select your hard drive from the list of devices on the left, then click the Repair Disk Permissions button on the right.

I'm having this same exact problem. I can get VDL to work once I get into the App - reset install folders, the works, etc. but on launch I get the same error message. I ran repair permissions, no luck.
Help?

Millerdog - The Mac migration tool isn't terribly reliable for these sorts of system-specific installations. I'm sure there are things you could tweak, but I'd suggest deleting the library, reinstalling it, then re-activating it with Service Center.
