I just recently bought Finale 2012 to use it to the full, and after I tried to install virtual drumline the way I installed it on Finale 2008, it doesn't seem to work.  Does anyone know how I'm supposed to use Virtual Drumline sounds in Finale 2012?

kurthnaga - If you've already installed KP2, you can disregard Ted's comment about it not working on 10.5 or 10.6. The issue he's speaking of is simply about the [i]installer[/i] for VDL.

I think some of the confusion comes from not knowing what exactly you're trying to do. Are you trying to INSTALL Virtual Drumline, or have you already installed it, and are simply trying to implement the Kontakt Player plugin within Finale?

Please include your computer specs, and the exact steps you've tried. You'll likely get more help and less guessing that way.

What type of computer specs? On the Mac side the KP2 won't load install on 10.5 or 10.6 without using a patch from Native Instruments. Is this a new computer install or are you just updating Finale from 2008 to 2012?

I tried using 08 Templates, because the 2012 templates aren't out yet.  But the problem seems to be it doesn't recognize the Kontakt Player 2 which came with VDL 2.5

Are you using any Tapspace or The Write Score templates? Have you looked through the changes in Finale since 2008? There have been some major enhancements in the area of percussion mapping and layout in those 5 versions.

Can you be more specific about what isn't working?
