Finale 2012 using layers with percussion layout

Loving the score manager feature in 2012, everything has worked great so far with VDL, until now.
I have an auxiliary percussion staff that uses multiple keymaps. To get more instruments I'm using layers to pile together Rack A, Rack B, and Metal Combo on layers 1, 2, and 3, respectively.

I have the percussion midi map, sound, and device aligned to play correctly, and the sounds work fine between layers. However, the ";notation style"; settings is where I edit how the instruments display on the staff, and I can't edit it for individual layers. It only allows me to edit the original one (so I'm limited to only displaying rack A on the staff for each layer).

Has anyone else encountered this problem/limitation or am I overlooking something here? Would this be something I need to ask Makemusic about?

Rather than using Layers, look at using the Mid-score instrument changes. This will easily allow you to do multiple layouts within a single staff.
Thanks Ted, I knew it had to be easier than I thought.
With the Score Manager and Mid-Score Instrument changes, you don't need to use Layers or Staff Styles for the Percussion MIDI Map changes. Make sure you read the Finale Help and look over the new Expressions categories I added for the 2012 templates. Keep us posted if there are any other issues.
