VDL/Kontakt 5 and Sibelius 7

Hello,

This my third post here and So far it has been very helpful.  I am new to sibelius 7 and I just got the update 7.1.  Here is what i am working with:

Mac OS X 10.7.3
2.4 GHz Intel Core i5
4GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Sibelius 7.1
Kontakt 5
Korg Microkey
VDL2.5

My question is, since I used to be a Finale user for the longest time I knew how to set specific sounds to each line of the staff when working with a battery score.  I could pick which line I wanted my rimshot to be and so on.  Is there a way to do with sibelius, do I need the templates or is this more of a question for the sibelius forums?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Keith
Hi Keith

You could do all the instrument mappings yourself within Sibelius, or you could save many months of work and get the template.

(I'm overdue to make my next video tutorial, and I was thinking a few days ago that I ought to make one that shows people how to implement their own instrument mapping customizations. We'll see what the next week or two looks like for getting that done.)
Exactly. The templates are a huge time saver. If you want to do some tinkering yourself, you'll find this area in the ";Edit Instruments"; window. You can read more about it in the Sibelius documentation, and will need to get up to speed on how Sibelius uses Sound IDs as well.
Awesome, I will probably do some tinkering of my own so I can learn how to do this myself, but I also would like to get the templates.  Which bundle would you recommend?  I mainly use the VDL sound set and I was reviewing the template bundle packages.  I arrange a lot for marching bands, battery and pit percussion.

Thanks,

Keith
I'd recommend just using the VDL template for Sibelius 7:

Also, if you use the coupon ";TAPSPACE10"; you'll get a discount on the order as well.
Hello,

Thanks for all your help.  I greatly appreciate it! and thanks for the coupon!
