Everything seems to have loaded just fine except for my unpitched percussion sounds (rack combo A and B, djembe, concert bass drum, etc.) Does anyone know what could be wrong? I have already tried to edit the instrument sounds but none of the sounds even show up there. Thanks in advance!

Sorry Murray! Hopefully, this will fill in the gaps:

I am using the VDL template from tapspace with Sibelius 6. I am not using the kontakt player but the version is 2 in case it helps. All of my sounds load perfectly except for a few in which they just sound as a piano. I am not using a midi keyboard and my sound card is a RealTek HD. I have not been able to find anyone with the same problem yet. Any idea as to why I am not getting these sounds?

What's the exact version number of the template?

If you're not using Kontakt Player, then what [i]are[/i] you using?

No. You still haven't given us very much information to work with.

It is a .sib file that is labeled VDL_Template_6.0. And guess I am using Kontakt player 2 to load the sounds into Sibelius

My best guess is that you started with one of the templates for Sib 6 (we used to sell these, but now they are sold/handled entirely by The Write Score���www.thewritescore.com) but have subsequently changed that file somehow so that it is confused as to which sounds to engage for which staves in your score. This could be happening either with fautly instrument change commands in the score or perhaps problems in your Playback Configuration.

If you hit ";I"; for ";Instruments";, it will show you a dialog box which tells you what instruments you have set up in your score. In the upper left of this box, that group of instrument categories will have the name and version of the VDL template for Sibelius in it. That's how you tell which version of the template you're working from, if any. That version must precisely match the version of the Sound Set you have set up in your Playback Configuration (in the Playback Devices window).

The issue could be related to what I'm describing, or something completely different. If you require further assistance, you'll need to do the following in a detailed fashion:
