VDL quit playing with Sibelius 7

VDL 2.5
Kontakt 5
Sibelius 7.1.2
MacBook Pro 2.3GHz i7, 8GB RAM, Lion OSX 10.7.4
I don't know how to find my midi settings
Using VDL as a plug-in

I am in the early stages of learning VDL. I am a proficient Sibelius user. I have a percussion score set up for a marching band percussion section. I have 3 instances of Kontakt 5 running and it was fine, no slow down or waiting on playback. I went to change an instrument to tambourine and it didn't make any sound. I tried backing up and playing the score which usually works to load the new sound if it doesn't right away and one of the marimba parts started playing from the cymbal rack combo (the text at the left of the score in panorama didn't change). This fixed the marimba for a minute but then one of the vibes started doing the same thing. Now only one of the marimba staves is playing everything else is silent. Is there anyway to salvage the score? It has been an enormous amount of work.

It's a bit tricky to understand your description of what's going on. Rather than recounting what you heard, it might be helpful to describe how you've set your score up (in Sibelius terms like instruments, sound sets, and whether or not you're using a template).

If you're using a template, you may want to paste some of these parts into a fresh, unadulterated version of the template to see if the behavior is consistent. Also, be sure you've read through the extensive documentation that came with the template -- assuming you're using one. You can learn more from the people who make those at The Write Score.

It may have something to do with what sound set you've assigned to your active instances of Kontakt 5 (in the ";Playback Devices"; window), or what specific tambourine instrument you assigned to the staff.
