Which snare drum sticks do you recommend for middle school concert band performers?

IP-LD - good weight and diameter for little hands

or

VF SD1 - I prefer the weight of the IP but the SD1 is popular and they sometimes get them from their local music store. I tell my MS kids to put their thumbs on the flag.  It's a good reference point.

I have a new stick coming out soon from IP, you should watch for it. It comes embedded with a device that emits a minor shock every time they're used while someone is talking.
