I am brand new to VDL2.5 and WriteScore.  This is the problem I am having, then I will tell you specs of what I am working on...and even attached images to show set-up stuff.

I am trying to use speedy entry for the parts, but when I do it just says Custom 1-?? and not what the actual sound is, because I am looking for it to tell me what the actual playback sound is going to be as it does on the TapSpace Demystified DVD that I have.  Additionally, in the Percussion Layout Designer it just says all the Custom Tracts.  This is all seen on the WriteScore Battery Template.

Which version of VDL are you using? VDL 2.5.5 is the most recent and the templates you are using were built for that version. I will do some more checking and have a couple other questions but need to get back to you before I ask.

I actually just figured out what the problem was and corrected it.

When I had the ScoreManager open, I clicked on Customize View, and was able to see the Perc. Midi Map that wasn't assigned to anything.  So once that was changed to the VDL maps it worked.

Glad to here you found the solution. This would have been my suggestion, after taking a second look at the images you posted.
