I am using Finale 2012 and VDL 2.5.5

When i write a piece with grace notes/flams, the flam plays back SUPER open.  So open, that it sounds like a totally different rhythm.  Is there settings in finale that i can adjust for this?  I'm just wanting a normal sounding flam as you would play on a marching snare.
