I've been a Sibelius user for many years now, and that workflow has served me well. Recently, I've been doing a lot of my non-percussion writing projects in DAWs and have really started to notice the benefits of composing this way. For visual presentation, I think notation programs still have the edge; however, for the creative process, I've found composing in a DAW to be much more rewarding.
I've read a number of posts on the forum about users' successes with Virtual Drumline and Logic Pro. I'm reasonably fluent with both Logic and Cubase, but because VDL has so many ";mapped"; instruments, keyswitches, etc., the workflow seems a little daunting to me. Is there anyone out there who has developed an efficient DAW workflow with VDL who could point me in the right direction?
