Wrong samples

Macbook Pro
Sibelius 6.2
Virtual Drumline 2.5.5
Kontakt 4

Hey,

Today I finally got virtual drumline up and running on sibelius. Most things are running smooth but I noticed that many instruments, which are chosen from the VDL 7.0 template playback as incorrect instruments. For example, the claves pearl synthetic plays back as a concert bass. The tom toms also playback as a concert bass. Also, the glockenspiel plays plays all pitches one octave above where the note should actually be. This leads the part being written entirely out of range but sounding correct. I've gone through the forums for a while but couldn't find anything to help me out. If anybody has an idea of how to fix this I would greatly appreciate it :)

I'm guessing you may not be using the correct sound set or using instruments (staves in Sibelius) specific to VDL in the template.

The other common cause of wrong staff playback is not having enough instances of Kontakt Player for Sibelius to load everything into. Make sure to also account for all instrument changes.
This doesn't sound like anything is technically wrong with your VDL installation per se. It sounds more like an issue with your Sibelius setup.

Are you using a template from The Write Score? If so, did you carefully read all the instructions that came with it? I'm guessing you may not be using the correct sound set or using instruments (staves in Sibelius) specific to VDL in the template.

If you're not using a template, I'd highly recommend it. Those guys know Finale and Sibelius inside and out, and put a specific focus on integrating Virtual Drumline. You can get a discount by entering the code TAPSPACE10 on checkout there.
