Sibelius Sounds (wind instruments) Fading out on Long Tied Notes

When using the Sibelius 7a VDL template from The Write Score, I am having issues with wind instruments that are playing tied notes (for example, two tied whole notes) fading out before the actual written note duration ends.  This problem does not seem to occur on a non-VDL template.  The score size is a pretty standard marching band chart with full battery/pit percussion staves.

Besides this issue, the playback is usually good without any hiccups, and the VDL sounds themselves are working great.  This occurs on both computers that I have Sibelius 7 and VDL 2.5.5 installed on (see signature below).  Anyone else experiencing this problem?  Any solutions?

Thanks!
Hi Jack

Can you send me the two files you're referring to so I can take a look? (Sent you a PM.)

Please attach a screen shot of your Playback Configuration.

Hi Jack

Looked at both files you sent me and here's what I see in them. Starting in bar 65 of EmpireState, the Flute stave played correctly, the next one down, Clarinet, did not hold all the way through the 4 measures - died off like you said. The difference between them is the accent applied to beat one of the Clarinet staff. This behavior should be fairly consistent across all staves using Sibelius Player instruments, since, in the Sibelius 7 Sounds library, the accent on notes triggers actual samples and that is how they have been programmed to play back.

Possible remedies:
1) Remove the accent(s).
2) In the Dictionary, remove the sound ID change from Accent. This is probably what you'll want to do. (Sibelius added the sound ID change for Accent in Sibelius 7.)

You said this doesn't seem to happen in a non-VDL file. Can you send me an example of that?

Let me know how you get on.

Hugh
Hugh,

Removing the accents fixed the problem!  I will look into removing the sound ID as well.

Thanks a lot!
