I am entering in 8th notes in 6/8 time in Sibelius 6.2/VLD 2.5.5 on a Windows 8 machine and the SibVLD7.0 template from the Write Score. I can't for the life of me figure out how to make these 8th notes beam together like in the picture I've attached. The image on the left is what it is now; the right image is what I want it to be. I have the beat groups 3,3 when setting up the 6/8 time signature -- I also looked up beams in the reference and tried all of the buttons on keypad 3/beam keypad and can't figure it out -- maybe it has something to do with the 8th note rest? Can someone help me with my ignorance here?? :)
THANK YOU!

The keypad is your answer. I jsut tried this with template 7.0a, and I can't imagine template 7.0 would behave an different in this regard.
1. Enter the notes as you want them (obviously you've already done this). 2. Go the the third keypad (beams). 3. Select the second note and then select the ";beam to the left"; button (keyboard shortcut numpad 9). A hanging beam to the left will appear. 4. Select the first note and the select then ";beam to the right"; button (keyboard shortcut numpad 7). 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for other note grouping.
