I just upgraded from kontaktplayer 2 and now my battery sounds are extremely soft in the mix. However, all the other VDL sounds (keyboards, drumset, etc.) have a normal playback volume. I know this issue was addressed in another thread for a Finale user, but I was wondering if there is some sort of solution in Sibelius that I'm unaware of? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Are you certain you're using library version 2.5.2? There was a pretty common volume issue where newer versions of Kontakt would play older versions of the VDL library at super soft levels, and this smells like that. But I'm pretty sure the 2.5.2 library fixed all that. There is, of course, a newer, fancier version of the library (2.5.5) available: https://www.tapspace.com/downloads-updates
2.5.5 is definitely designed to play really well within Kontakt 4 or 5.
If you don't want to go that route, I'd encourage you to double-check that the library was installed correctly, and that you're certain you're on that version. There's info on how to tell if you're using 2.5.2 in this post.
The other thing to double check is where your Sibelius mixer settings are. I'm guessing you've already done that, but sometimes it's the simple things that get us! ;)

Hey Jim,
Thanks for the reply! I actually went ahead and updated to the vdl 2.5.5 library as well as updated my template and sound set by purchasing through ";The Write Score"; and it totally fixed the problem. Thanks for all the great work you guys do and also big ups to Hugh Smith for creating these templates and sound sets.
Now it's off to playing almglocken melodies on my NanoKey2!

You deserve all the kudos you receive, Hugh! And most likely, you don't receive nearly enough of them. As human nature would have it, you probably hear more from the people who are having problems understanding how to use your templates. I'd venture to guess that this is a minority of your users.
The satisfied customers are probably busy making music and being creative! But they wouldn't be doing that if it weren't for all your tireless efforts. Thanks so much for all you've done to enable VDL users with these amazing tools!!

Thank you too, Jim!
The fact that I don't hear much like the above tells me I'm doing something right, which I take as a compliment in itself. Yes, I agree that's it's because they're too busy writing. And for the ones that have a problem or two getting going, they soon disappear also once it's sorted out. ;D

I just bought a new laptop with the following specs:
Specs:
Windows 8 (64-bit)
Sibelius 7.1.3
Kontaktplayer 5.2.1
VDL 2.5.2
16GB Ram
I just upgraded from kontaktplayer 2 and now my battery sounds are extremely soft in the mix. However, all the other VDL sounds (keyboards, drumset, etc.) have a normal playback volume.
