VDL 2.5 Installation problems

When I open the kontakt 5 player, it says that it cannot locate the vdl 2.5 files.  Where should they be located?  Its been a few years since I've done this and I am having problems.

Thanks in advance,

Dennis

ps. I'm using windows 7, Sibelius 7.1, Kontakt player 5, 32 bit processor
Kontakt 5 has a slightly different way of adding the VDL library to Kontakt Player compared to the older KP2 method where it was all bundled into one installer.

You can place your VDL 2.5 library anywhere you'd like. Some people like to keep it on a secondary hard drive. Some people keep it in their Documents folder. It's really up to you (as long as you have space available).

To add it to Kontakt 5, simply click Kontakt's ";Add Library"; button, then navigate to the library folder called ";Virtual Drumline 2.5."; If you have a prior installation of VDL on your machine, it may be located in your Program Files folder under Tapspace>Virtual Drumline 2.5.

If you're seeing a spot for the library, but it's not working, I'd suggest removing the library (using the little gear icon by the library), then doing the ";Add Library"; step mentioned above.

Below are a couple installation videos are specific to the VDL 2.5.5 Library Update, but should give you a general sense of how the installation works in Kontakt 5.

Thanks Jim!

I'll give it a shot.  Will you be at either TMEA or TBA this year?  I hope to see you there.

Take care,

Dennis
Jim,

I was able to get the kontakt 5 player to find the vdl files.  Now, I am having one last problem.  When I go to the setup a new sound set, it doesn't find the vdl or kontakt file to activate.

I am using a updated VDL file that worked before my computer problems.

Dennis
I don't understand your question, Dennis.

By ";sound set"; are you talking about a sound set in Sibelius? If so, that wouldn't really be a VDL issue.

Are you saying you can't activate VDL? If so, try closing Kontakt 5, then launching Service Center. If you're having trouble activating, you can feel free to fill out a support ticket so someone can help you a bit more directly.

Jim,

I think I've figured out what the problem is.

Thanks,

Dennis

ps.  I sure wish I was more computer savvy.
