I have been trying for a couple months now to add virtual drumline sounds into finale 2014. i have added the library into kontakt player 5 and i have purchased the write score template for finale 2012a.

Welcome to the forum. Probably the main thing to understand is that you don't really ";put VDL into Finale"; as much as simply load up an instance of Kontakt within Finale. With that activated instance of Kontakt, you'd load your desired VDL instruments.

If you read the documentation that came with your Write Score template, it should help give you more of the specifics of how you integrate the various template files for easier integration.

Thank you for explaining that Jim, it seems my problem was that kontakt isn't appearing as an option under the device window, how would i go about getting it there? thanks!

Note: this is an issue of integrating [b]Kontakt[/b] into [b]Finale[/b] and doesn't really have anything to do with your Virtual Drumline library.

I'm running Kontakt 5.3.1 without any issues in Finale 2014. You don't mention which OS you're running. That may provide a big clue as to solving this issue.

Did you copy your Kontakt VST file into the correct location? To be sure, let us know precisely where you placed it.

i deleted the vst files and put the in again

That's about as vague a question as I've heard here. I'd suggest you spend some time reading the documentation that came with the Write Score template. If you become stuck and need to ask a question, please provide some specific details about what you've actually done, and what specifically you're trying to accomplish.
