Hello all, I am trying to see if any of you have a solution of making the basses louder in my music. I went in to VDL and turn them up, but they still really can't be heard. If any of you have any solutions it would be very helpful. I am running Sibelius 6.2 with VDL 2.5.5 on a Macbook Pro Retina display. The parts that I want louder are unison parts.
Oftentimes the best way to make a track louder is by turning some of the other tracks down. There's a tendency to want to get as much volume out of every track. Too much of a good thing, ya know?
If you're working with a VDL Template within Sibelius, I recommend you do this all from within the Sibelius mixer and NOT in Kontakt player. Sibelius will sometimes override manual settings you make to loaded patches, or it'll reload new patches in place of previously loaded/tweaked patches.
If you try this method and find that your overall volume is too low, you can turn up your global Kontakt Player volumes in the Sibelius mixer as well. Just be sure you're viewing your Virtual Instrument faders.
