VDL sounds playing back different sounds on Sibelius playback

Hello,
I am running the latest version of VDL on Sibelius 7.5 on MacBook Pro.
When I write tam tam, bass drum, or hi hat parts, the playback is different. For example, I'll write an open hi hat part and then when I play it back, it is a closed hi hat sound.
I heard that this could have to do with me changing settings in the mixer. But I can't find anywhere that tells me how to fix this. Someone told me to press shift and then click auto in the mixer. I did that but no where in the mixer do I see the word auto when I click shift. Could anybody help me out here with more in detail help?
More detailed help will be possible when you provide more details about the issue:
[li]What version of VDL are you running? 2.5.x?[/li] [li]What version of Kontakt Player are you running?[/li] [li]Are you using a template from The Write Score? If so, which one?[/li] [li]If you are running with a template, what steps have you taken to ensure it's configured properly in your setup and playback configurations?[/li] [li]Have you verified in the mixer that Kontakt Player is indeed the playback device loading for the staves in question?[/li]
I don't know anything about shift-clicking Auto in the mixer. If that's true, that's news to me. You can provide screenshots of your mixer if it helps illustrate the problem. You can also attach your Sib file so that someone else may try and reproduce the issue.

Also, if you're using a template from The Write Score, are you 100% certain you've assigned the correct sound set to your Kontakt device? You may also want to consider adding a few more active instances of Kontakt, but most likely your issue has something to do with how you are (or aren't) implementing the files you got with your template (assuming you're using a template).
I am running the latest version of VDL and Kontakt player and using a template from thewritescore.com.
I've double checked my installation of everything and I completed all the steps, to the best of my knowledge.
All other instruments work fine-marching snare, tenor, etc-it just happens with instruments like hi hat, tam tam etc.

My money is still on either the sound set setting (it's easy to accidentally select the built-in Sibelius ";Virtual Drumline"; sound set, rather than the customized one you installed with your template) or else the possibility that you're not using an instrument from the VDL family of choices (which you find from the instrument choices within the template file itself).
Also, check that your noteheads correspond to that of the template's corresponding keymaps. If you notate with the wrong notehead, you may get unexpected results.
As always, the people at The Write Score will likely have more reliable suggestions since I believe this issue pertains to the template. Good luck!

I did post on TWS forum, but still no answer yet.
I checked my sound configurations and it is all correct, and I even checked the TWS read me document. It's weird, because when I write an open hi hat and play it back, it plays it back as closed, but all the mallet and battery instruments work fine though. Not sure what to do, so confused!
