I've just purchased Sibelius 8 along with the Sibelius Template Bundle from The Write Score. I haven't set any of this up to work together and was wondering if someone can point me in the right direction? Thanks!
My best advice would be to carefully read through the documentation that comes with your template from The Write Score. They're pretty thorough with their documentation and it should give you all the information you need to get up and running with it! If you run into any snags, you can always do some searching on the support areas of The Write Score website.

Hello again,
Looks like I'm getting close fully functioning with this and I just have a few questions.
1. Does anyone have a good playback configuration for full marching band scores along with percussion? I've been playing with the woodwind and brass sounds but haven't have any luck.
2. I'm having trouble finding how to adjust the volume of individual staves in kontakt player. I though that I could open that through the mixing board but I can't seem to find it.
3. Sibelius 8 crashes quite often. Wondering if this is a Sibelius issue or a VDL issue?
Thanks!

Glad to hear you're making headway!
Technically, VDL isn't even a program. It's just a library of sounds. So there's no way VDL would be crashing your system. You may want to look at what version of Kontakt you're using and update that to the latest. Same with Sibelius. Version 8.0 may be less stable than, say, version 8.1. That's not uncommon in the world of software releases.
Are you using VDL library 2.5.5 (rather than 2.5.0)? Ideally, that'd give you the most reliable volume levels. Beyond that, adjusting volume within the Sibelius realm is usually done within the Sibelius mixer which you can open/close by clicking the 'M' key.
I think a lot of folks just use Avid's ";Sibelius Sounds"; device for playing back brass/woodwind stuff, then reserve a number of instances of Kontakt 5.x for running all the VDL/percussion sounds.

Ok cool. A few more questions.
1. If I upgrade, will I need to do anything to set it up with the template?
2. It doesn't appear that I have the Sibelius soundest in my playback devices. I'll attach a picture for you to see what I have available. Wondering if I didn't set my template up correctly.

If you aren't seeing ";Sibelius Player"; as an available device, you may not have installed the sound library that comes with Sibelius. You may want to check your Sibelius documentation or contact Avid on how to do that.
If you're using The Write Score template 7.0a (which it looks like you are), I'm pretty sure that works with all the current versions of Sibelius, but you may want to verify that with them. http://www.thewritescore.com.
