Loading VDL library on Second computer

Hello,

I am trying to load my VDL 2.5.5 library onto a second computer.  I understand we can have two installations of the library.  I have the original disk virtual drumline 2.5 and have bought the Kontakt 5 crossgrade a couple of years ago.

This computer is running OS X Yosemite.  When I use the disk and select the installation process, nothing happens.  It spins and then stops and it appears that nothing is loaded.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

Keith

OS X Yosemite 10.10.4
2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
Sibelius 8
Kontakt 5

Hi Keith,

The problem is the installer on your older DVD. This happens on any Macs past 10.5, unfortunately. The workaround is to use the 2.5.5 library updater or to get a replacement of your old DVD. Either solution will have instructions on how to install.

Hi Jim,

thanks for replying to me.  I figured that was the issue and that I had to use the 2.5 updater.  I believe I still have the updater on my other computer...If i dont, do I have to repurchase it again if I already purchased it once?

Thanks,

Keith
Nope! If you purchased the downloadable update, as long as you saved the updater when you first downloaded it, you are free to use it on your other machine as well.

If you didn't make a back up, get in touch by filling out a support ticket, and someone can help you get your link regenerated.
Excellent!  Thanks again!
Hi Jim,

I believe you helped me with answering my support ticket and regenerating the vdl updater link.  I have one more question regarding deactivating the VDL library on my old computer.  I used the service center to deactivate the library on the old computer, I believe I saw something about sending in another support ticket to make sure its deactivate or the that library is removed completely with the system ID?  is this correct?

thanks,

Keith Wilson
After you've deactivated, it's always a good idea to take a screenshot of Service Center showing the System ID and deactivated status of that machine, then sending that in to a support ticket. It'll help ensure that we shore up any loose ends on your account so you don't run into any serial locks unexpectedly.
