In Sibelius 7 (Mac) --> Playback Devices, I have Kontakt 5 (AU) and the VDL Soundset 7.0a as an Active Device. I have VDL 5.2.5 in my configuration.
I thought it was working fine until I started writing battery parts and some of the sounds in the Snareline Manual LITE were not playing back the same as what it says in the Map. (No duts, no met, almost everything sounds the same, buzz rolls sound TERRIBLE). Then I started messing around with the Tenorline Manual LITE and it seems to be missing a lot as well. For starters, there are only 2 different pitches. Drums 1, 2, and 3 are one pitch and drums 4 and 5 are another. BD Manual has same issue (same pitches, no rims, etc.). I tried to run a triggertest and ran into the same issues.
Okay...it totally works if I deactivate the Sibelius 7 Sounds soundset. Any ideas on what ";Device/Type/Soundset"; I should use in order to get the winds to playback at the same time as the VDL? When I add the Sibelius Sounds to the Kontakt (AU) VDL SoundSet7.0a, the VDL Sounds change somehow.
Thanks!

I think it's under control. Added another instance of Kontakt/VDL. I must have gone over my 32 sounds without knowing. All good!

Good to hear. Having a few extra instances than you'd typically need can be a good practice and I don't think it inhibits performance too much. The other suggestion I was going to make was to ensure that you're various mixer tracks were set to ";auto"; rather than specific VDL instruments, but it sounds like your solution sorted it all out. Thanks for reporting back your solution. You'll probably save someone some trouble in the future when they run into a similar situation.

Ok, I'm having the exact same problem Dhicks had (two tenor sounds, weird sounds other places) but I'm am doing nothing that he is doing. I have set all my mixer sounds to Auto and am not running Sibelius Sounds. I am also only working with 6 instruments and my tenor line only has two sounds. All the other ones seem to work ok. Any idea?

I need some help with my TenorLine Manual LITE input. I'm using Sibelius 7.1.3 and Virtual Drumline 2.5. I'm also running a MacBook Pro 10.11.5.
When I enter the notes using a Korg NanoKey2, I can hear all of the correct tenor drum pitches. Yet during playback, it only plays TWO pitches. Sounds like drums 1 and 2 are playing just a drum 2 pitch, and drums 3 and 4 are playing just a drum 4 pitch.
I read this string of posts and I'm not sure I'm understanding how tp fix the problem. Can anyone provide some advice?
Thanks!

Are you using a template from The Write Score? If so, you may want to take another look through their documentation to double-check you've set it all up correctly.

Jeremy - You might want to post a screenshot of your playback configuration. It's tough to tell what you mean when you say you're doing nothing he's doing. You may also want to check with the folks from The Write Score since this sounds likely related to how you're implementing your template files. http://www.thewritescore.com
