Anyone else having issues with Finale 25 and the TG Tools Smart Playback Plug-in (included LE Version) no longer recognizing diddles as an articulation to process (see attachment)? Layer 4 is open so it's not an occupied layer issue.

Just to check, are you applying the tool? It needs to have the notes selected and the tool applied. The tool doesn't work automatically.

Also, there is VDL Human Playback available. Have you tried those?

[/quote] Thanks Ted. Yes, I apply via the plug via "Go" which prompts the error message. The "Play" option auditions the measure but without the diddles.

I see the VDL Human Playback options are "active" in Preferences but not visible in the drop-down menu of MIDI/Audio>Human Playback.

You shouldn't need to do anything as long as HP is active. The VDL2.5.5 HP settings are built into the templates.

I just checked and there does seem to be an issue with both HP and the Smart Playback. It will take me a couple of days to track things down and have a solution.

Took less time than I thought :

- after you enter some notes go to the MIDI/Audio menu and select Human Playback
- select Custom from the list
- the dialog box that appears set both Rhythmic Feel and Accents to 0% (this will remove any pulses such as an unwritten accent or stronger note performed on a strong beat, such as just before a diddle or on a diddle if it is on the beat)
-make sure that 'Play 32nd Note Rolls Exactly' is checked
-in the Playback Controls, it should indicate that the HP style is Custom

That should work.

As far as the VDL HP settings those are for implement changes and a few other 'Text' based instructions.
