If you receive a message that your serial number has been locked when activating your software, it means your serial number has been used beyond its limit. Per the VDL license agreement, you are permitted to activate the software on two of your own machines. Don't worry–we can help you!

If you are activating the software on a new computer, it is important that you first deactivate any older machines on which you will no longer use the library.

Once you have deactivated older machines, we can manually remove these hardware profiles on your account. Please fill out a support ticket explaining the situation in as much detail as possible and we'll be happy to assist you.

1) Provide a screenshot of your deactivated System IDs.

If you've deactivated an older machine, providing a screenshot of Service Center showing the System ID and deactivated status of that machine will greatly speed up the process of getting your serial number unlocked. Please provide this in a support ticket.

(If you're not sure how to take a screenshot, this site gives instructions for different platforms)

2) Provide System IDs for machines you intend to use.

It's important that we don't monkey with any system IDs that you intend to use, so having a clear listing of these will help us quickly locate your desired machines.
