Upon launching the Connect installer on Mac OS X, you may receive a message saying "Connect can't be opened because it's from an unidentified developer."

This is due to your Mac's security settings in which a gatekeeper prevents the computer from launching software from unidentified developers. This is an easy fix.

  • Go to Apple menu (top-left)>System Preferences > Security & Privacy
  • Towards the bottom of the window, you'll see an area labeled "Allow apps downloaded from:"
  • You'll see a message saying "Connect" was blocked from opening because it is not from an identified developer. Next to this, there is a button allowing you to open it anyway.*
  • Click Open Anyway and Connect will launch.

*If you don't see this message, attempt launching the Connect application first.
